About Purple Faye

Hi, I’m Purple Faye a purple-loving artist based in Knottingley/Castleford, West Yorkshire, UK.

I create original 3D acrylic paintings using a technique I’ve developed since my GCSE art.

I build up layers of recycled cardboard boxes and modroc (bandages with plaster of Paris in, the same stuff they use when you break a bone) and finish by painting them with acrylic paint.

They are tactile, sculptural and unique paintings that invite people to look closer to see how they are really 3D.

I make commissions from your photos pets, places, favourite buildings, anything that’s meaningful to you.

As well as original paintings available to buy,  reproductions in the form of cards and prints are also an option. As are 3D picture craft kits so you can have a go at making your own masterpieces using my technique.

Where to Find Me
You can visit me in person at my pop-up studio in Castleford, inside the old Argos unit at Carlton Lanes Shopping Centre, WF10 1AD.

I’m open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11am–3pm. Check my Facebook page facebook.com/PurpleFayeArt for any changes on the day, or message/ring me to arrange a visit.
You can also shop online at purplefaye.co.uk and find me at craft fairs around West Yorkshire throughout the year.

A Bit of Background
I studied Art and Design at Leeds Met University (now Beckett) and Fine Art and Graphic Design at Selby College.

I’ve been making and selling my 3D acrylic paintings since 2012, and having a physical space in Castleford is something I’ve loved returning to. I had a shop here about 12 years ago and it’s great to be back.

When I’m not painting, you’ll probably find me on roller skates or golfing. Skating and golf are a big part of my life and my community. I’m always on the lookout for fellow skaters and golfers in the Castleford area.
I’d love to hear from you, whether you’re interested in a commission, want to pop in and see the studio, or just want to say hello. You can reach me at info@purplefaye.co.uk or via Facebook.
